The international heritage of Ravenna, city of mosaics, has been recognised by UNESCO. Eight monuments built over a period of 1500 years have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Sights near RelaxandiA.
RelaxandiA is immersed in the countryside, framed by a large garden,
where many different types of trees, plants and colorful flowers give
color and intense aromas, while a melody from the wind whispered among
the leaves is accompanied by the song of thrushes and sparrows. It is
not uncommon to spot nearby splendid specimens of heron cenerino.
For fans ornithologists is recommended to visit the ancient salt
of Cervia and the natural park of the mouth of Bevano, where, according
to the season is set pink flamingos, herons, storks and other species
of birds. Today the Delta Park includes wetlands protected brackish
water, such as the Valli di Comacchio and the Saline di Cervia, natural
oasis of fresh water to the inside and historic pine trees in the
Ravenna area. These wetlands have special natural environments such as
reedbeds, woodlands and pine forests, where there are opportunities for
refuge and breeding many species of birds: herons, egrets, avocets and,
in particular, the knight of Italy, the very symbol of the park. For
several years, the Delta is attended by a colony of pink flamingos.
There are numerous medieval villages in the hills of Romagna,
among them is worthy of attention especially for fans of eno-gastronomy
BERTINORO: the village wine
"Not so rough you are worthy cup, or wine, but Berti gold." It
seems that from this sentence, pronounced by Galla Placidia after
having tasted the pregevolissimo Albana, is the name of this village.
The legend tells that the noblewoman, daughter of Theodosius, he
had the chance to taste the typical wine of Romagna. The soft drink was
the offer in a normal cup of mud and, after drinking the delicious
wine, said the sentence that would have given its name to the village
of Romagna.
Is it really the way it was or not, it is not know. What is
certain is that the medieval town of Bertinoro did its past, a true
treasure.
Park of the Po Delta is a preferred destination not only for
nature lovers but also for history and art: the village of Comacchio
and Pomposa are the most significant human settlement in this changing
landscape of "lands and waters ".
Although the valleys surrounding Comacchio were largely cleared,
it is still clear lagoon the origin of this "little Venice" for the
canals and bridges that cross. Symbol of the town is the scenic
Trepponti, monumental bridge access to the historical center, built in
the seventeenth century. Walking through the streets that flank the
channels, you can visit the Museo della Nave Romana, recently opened,
where it is exposed to the cargo ship sank in the Augustan age and
found virtually intact after 2000 years.
